WELCOME

We would like to offer you a very warm welcome to The Academy International Baccalaureate Programme (IBDP). 

Our school, established in 1985, has long been recognized as a center of excellent academic achievement, where the whole school community shares the joy of learning. 

Academy students are encouraged, supported, and challenged. They are offered a broad and balanced curriculum, delivered by motivated and creative teachers, to ensure that learning is effective and promotes a lifelong passion for education. 

The Academy teaching team accompanies the students on a wonderful learning journey from our Nursery classrooms all the way through to sixth form. 

Our sixth form is the best preparation for university and further education. The two-year programme perfectly complements their previous learning by offering a broad curriculum with subjects from languages, the arts, humanities, maths and sciences. Career guidance, personal and social development, and a wide range of extra-curricular experiences inspire the students to become confident learners who will thrive in our ever-changing society. 

Our new secondary site is purpose built for young adults creating the optimum learning environment and providing the ideal stepping stone to university and adult life. Students have open-plan spaces for collaborative work, state of the art laboratories, inspirational classrooms, landscaped areas for outdoor learning and the technology and online resources to support their studies. Most importantly our secondary school is embedded with the values and ethos of The Academy and provides a seamless transition for Academy students and a very welcoming community for students who join the IBDP from other schools. 

The International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme is an exciting, rigorous and engaging programme, unrivalled in its preparation for a successful and fulfilling future.
