This week our youngest children had a lovely walk around the school to see the lovely Christmas decorations. They loved the Christmas tree and were very excited to see the reindeer and polar bears in the courtyard! This week Reception 2 have begun preparing for Christmas by decorating their tree, writing Christmas letters and singing Christmas songs. The Reception 2 write letters in English and Spanish and write to Santa and the Three Kings. How lucky they are to speak both languages and have double chance to receive gifts!

The Year 2 students have started their basketball lessons this half term and are working on skills such as bouncing, passing and shooting. Ms Hannah is so pleased with their enthusiasm, great listening and how supportive they are being to each other as they develop these skills.

The IBDP 2 science students conducted successfully their Internal assessments in the sciences for this academic year. They have been able to do a whole day practical where they have investigated and enjoyed learning in depth about topics that they chose to learn more about.

The children in Year 5 have been creating their stop motion videos. They developed their skills in planning the storyline, creating the set, and it was nice to see them collaborating in the production, recording and editing. They are looking forward to sharing their movies with their classmates.

We love using our outdoor spaces for learning outside the classroom. This week Year 10 were working together in an outdoor history lesson while Year 4 had an outdoor maths lesson.

Last week Ms Castell accompanied 3 DP1 students who took part in a cultural exchange with a school in Italy. The students stayed with host families, attended the Italian secondary school and had cultural visits around the area. They had an amazing experience and came back feeling inspired by all they had learnt. Ms Castell was very proud of the

This week Year 6 completed a fitness circuit. Each station focused on a different component of fitness such as balance, coordination, speed and flexibility. This is part of their science topic of healthy lifestyles and wellbeing. They have also enjoyed some cooking lessons as they learn about the importance of a balanced diet.

In R2 Spanish classes the children are working on the topic of occupations. They have been talking about what their parents do for a living and what they would like to do when they grow up. We hope that some mums and dads will come and tell us more about their jobs.
